Well a few email MX record hick ups and tweaks with logo and styling later we are live with the beginnings of our new site design. We had some strange reaction from IE initially and some of the strangest behavior we have ever seen from a browser. We had no problems in Safari, FireFox, Opera, WebKit but in IE 6 and 7 you would see the site and then poof error about connection to site and then cryptic error page from IE wanting to run connection wizard. This seemed to be an issue with a badge we originally had on the site. We have since removed them all, twitter, Upcoming, Google Reader and a Tag Cloud.

From the feed back we have received it may be a bit dense and especially with the badges overwhelmed a few people so we are loosing or moving the badges and are looking at making some tweaks on the home page.

With the convergence of media and the web the ability to get content to your audience is more and more dependant on broadband availability. Here is yet another methodology for making broadband Internet as pervasive as possible. It will be interesting to see how the FCC responds to this device. A very powerful consortium is behind this endeavor:  Microsoft, Google, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Intel and Philips so with all these big companies trying to make this a reality we will hopefully see this come to reality some time in early 2009.

It is crucial for understanding how your intellectual property rights are effected and we found this article to be very helpful in understanding these issues. Of particular interest to us is the ability to use creative commons licensing and how some of your major services do not allow you to use that type of license.

This is a great unified device and with CES and Macworld going on a ton of announcements are being made. Both Apple and Microsoft have announced IPTV plays but more to come on that.
